Pine Bluff Man Faces Charges for Alleged Assault on Girlfriend

A $10,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of punching his girlfriend in the face during an altercation Tuesday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Chauncey Gordon, 27, with second-degree battery.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said in the early morning hours Tuesday, police were sent to the Emergency Room at Jefferson Regional Hospital in response to a reported battery.

Gordon was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Aug. 6.
