A $10,000 bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man who fled from a Redfield officer and allegedly assaulted the officer before being tazed and taken into custody.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge James Gordy, 57, with fleeing, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Redfield police were notified of a one-vehicle accident on Dollarway Road that resulted in a vehicle stuck in a ditch after striking a tree.

Redfield Police Chief Steve McFatridge responded to the accident.

At this point the female had gotten back in her vehicle and was trying to get out of the ditch with the tires spinning and throwing mud which distracted McFatridge.

The female that was involved in the accident was charged with DWI.

Gordy was told to come back to court April 1.
