A $10,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly hit his girlfriend and pointed a gun at her during an altercation.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Kevin Franklin, 32, with aggravated assault on a family or household member.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said on March 14, police were sent to an apartment on Cottonwood Drive where the victim said she and Franklin had gotten into a verbal altercation that turned physical.

Spradlin said Boykin went to the scene and talked to the victim.

Police put a BOLO on social media for Franklin and he turned himself in Thursday. When questioned, he admitted arguing with the victim but denied hitting her or pointing a gun at her. He said she hit herself.

Franklin was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court May 11.
