Pine Bluff Introduces New Trash Pickup Team as CARDS Prepares for Service Transition

A town hall meeting Monday introduced members of the team that will be picking up trash in Pine Bluff beginning next week.

Mayor Vivian Flowers hosted the meeting to allow local residents to ask questions of CARDS representatives and let them talk about where they are, and where they will be when they take over for Waste Management after winning the contract.

The meeting was held at Southeast Arkansas College and was the second of two sessions the city has arranged for CARDS representatives.

Local general manager Curtis Wamble talked to Deltaplex News after the meeting and said this.

Flowers told the 30 or so people who attended the meeting that delivery of  residential trash containers started Oct. 15 and is expected to take two more days.

Wamble said anyone who has no been given a cart should call the local office number, 870-399-7463.

Fourth Ward City Council Member Bruce Lockett attended the meeting and talked to Deltaplex News afterward.

The city’s contract with Waste Management ends Oct. 321 and the contract with CARDS begins Nov. 1. The first day for pickup will be Nov. 3.
