City leaders and residents gathered Monday night at the Pine Bluff Convention Center for a town hall meeting with representatives from CARDS Holdings, Inc. to discuss the city’s transition from Waste Management to CARDS for sanitation services.
Mayor Vivian Flowers said afterward that she was pleased with the discussion and highlighted several key points raised during the meeting.
One issue addressed was the inconsistency in garbage bin sizes currently used across the city. Flowers noted that CARDS plans to standardize the process by providing bins of the same size to all households.
She also emphasized a provision in the city’s contract with CARDS requiring the company to respond to customer complaints within 24 hours.
The city’s contract with CARDS Holdings officially begins November 1, with the first day of service scheduled for Monday, November 3, since the start date falls on a Saturday.
