A report suggesting that $300,000 could potentially be cut from the Pine Bluff Convention Center by the Pine Bluff Advertising and Promotion (A&P) Commission drew a packed crowd to Monday evening’s meeting.
However, no mention of such a cut was made during the session.
Glen Brown Jr., Chair of the Pine Bluff A&P Commission, spoke with Deltaplex News following the meeting to address the report.
Brown Jr. added that no budget has been approved for 2026, so no action can be taken until then.
In other business, it was announced that the State of Arkansas has allocated funds to support fairs across the state. The Southeast Arkansas Livestock Fair and Rodeo in Pine Bluff will receive $54,000, which will help ensure the event takes place this year from September 23–27.
