The City of Pine Bluff has activated a warming center in response to extreme cold temperatures expected to impact the area.
City officials announced the warming center will operate at the Opportunity House, located at 1305 East Sixth Ave., from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. beginning Friday, Jan. 17. The center will remain open nightly until overnight temperatures rise above 32 degrees.
The warming center is intended to provide a safe, heated place for individuals seeking relief from the cold weather.
