In the Pine Bluff City Council agenda released for Monday, an ordinance to abolish the Urban Renewal Agency will be up for first reading. The ordinance would not only dissolve the agency, but discharge the members of any further responsibilities as board members, and transferring all assets and liabilites of the agency to the city of Pine Bluff.
They will also take up for first reading of an ordinance classifying the personnel of the police department. This was discussed by the Public Safety Committee on Monday. It would eliminate two deputy chief positions and add to the Assistant Chief positions going from one to three. Mayor Vivian Flowers said it will address a “top heavy structure” within the department.
They will also discuss a resolution to authorize Mayor Flowers to enter into an agreement with the Watson Chapel Water Association for the collection of sanitation fees.
The meeting will be at 5:30 on Monday.
