A $10,000 bond was set Friday for a man currently on parole who is accused of entering a burnt-out house and taking copper wire.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Beau Hill, 40, with breaking of entering.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said on Thursday, an officer was sent to a residence in response to a possible theft of property.

When Hill was questioned, he said he had permission from the property owner to take the wire. Hill was told to come back to court March 3.
