The Central Arkansas Veterans Health Care System (CAVHS) recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the upcoming opening of its brand-new Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic.
Designed to improve access to timely medical care for Veterans, the clinic is located at the North Little Rock VA campus, Building 170 (Room 1C140), 2200 Fort Roots Drive. It is scheduled to officially open on June 2nd.
The clinic will operate Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and will serve as a vital resource for Veterans in need of prompt but non-emergency medical attention.
According to Dr. Michael Moore, Director of the Little Rock VA Medical Center, the new clinic is expected to make an immediate impact.
“We are excited to install our new Urgent Care Clinic for Veterans,” said Dr. Moore. “We have worked diligently towards opening the clinic, and we expect it to make an immediate impact for eligible Veterans who are seeking walk-in treatment for urgent care needs.”
The Urgent Care Clinic aims to reduce wait times in the Emergency Department while enhancing support for CAVHS’ Primary Care, Mental Health, and Homeless Domiciliary programs.
Veterans visiting the new clinic will have access to walk-in care for a wide range of medical issues, including:
-
Acute colds, flu, and minor illnesses
-
Minor lacerations and acute injuries
-
Minor fractures
-
Select laboratory tests and X-rays
-
Suturing and more
By treating these conditions on a walk-in basis, the clinic is expected to relieve pressure on emergency services while providing quicker care for non-life-threatening issues.
Veterans seeking care at the new Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic can call (501) 257-1000, press 0, and request the Urgent Care Clinic for more information.
