On Saturday, June 14, hundreds of protests under the banner “No Kings” are expected to take place across all 50 states in opposition to former President Donald Trump and his administration’s policies. The coordinated day of action coincides with Trump’s 79th birthday, Flag Day, and a scheduled military-themed celebration in Washington, D.C.
Organized by the group No Kings (nokings.org), the demonstrations aim to push back against what they describe as rising authoritarianism and the erosion of democratic norms in the United States. The group accuses Trump of defying court rulings, deporting U.S. citizens, violating civil rights, and slashing essential public services.
According to No Kings, the June 14 protests will be held in diverse locations — from major cities to small towns — with at least 10 demonstrations planned in Arkansas, including in Little Rock, Fayetteville, and Monticello. A full list of events and locations can be found through local organizing groups and on the group’s official website.
In a statement, No Kings described the action as “a nationwide day of defiance,” adding:
“From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, we’re taking action to reject authoritarianism — and show the world what democracy really looks like.”
The protests are scheduled to occur the same day Trump is expected to participate in a Flag Day and Army birthday celebration, which will reportedly feature military hardware such as 60-ton M1 Abrams battle tanks and Paladin self-propelled howitzers.
The planned protests follow a recent surge in nationwide demonstrations sparked by Trump’s controversial mobilization of the National Guard and U.S. Marines in Los Angeles last week, in response to escalating public unrest. These events, combined with federal immigration raids and heightened concerns over civil liberties, have intensified public backlash in the lead-up to the June 14 actions.
