The National Black Growers Council is planning an event this Friday promoting row crop farming in Southeast Arkansas.
Dewayne Goldman is a member of the group and appeared on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show to explain what the council is and what they’re planning.
The property is owned by P.J. Haynie, who joined the conversation by phone to talk about what will be happening at his farm.
Morning Show host Greg Horne noted that Haynie mentioned record crops and asked if that meant that farming continues to do better as an industry.
There are currently fewer people involved in agriculture today that there were previously, but they are producing more and Goldman explained that.
