The Arkansas Municipal League recently recognized the City of Sheridan as the Arkansas Volunteer Community of the Year for Innovation.
According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, the award recognizes Sheridan’s volunteer-driven efforts, particularly the work of the Clean City Taskforce. That group focuses on beautification, cleanup and community pride.
The newspaper quoted Mayor Cain Nattin as saying “The recognition is a testament to what can be accomplished when citizens come together with a shared goal.
“This award is proof that real change can happen when citizens roll up their sleeves,” he said.
The award was presented during the Municipal League’s Winter Conference last month in Little Rock.
