Bonds of $10,000 each were set Friday for two men accused of stealing air conditioning units from an apartment complex then trying to sell them for scrap metal.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bonds after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Edward Reeves, 40, and Corey Thomas, 40, with theft of property.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said at about 9:35 a.m. Thursday, Police Lt. Billy Dixon responded to a reported theft at the Broadmoor Arms Apartments at 8:01 S. Wisconsin St.

Spradlin said about an hour later, police were provided screen shots from the video and they posted them on Facebook and other social media sites.

Reeves and Thomas were both questioned and admitted their involvement in the thefts.

Spradlin said both Reeves and Thomas have charges pending in circuit court. They were told to come back to court Aug. 22.
