The McGehee School District Board of Directors has unanimously selected Justin Holt as the district’s next superintendent, effective July 1, 2026. Holt will succeed longtime superintendent Linda Tullos, who is retiring after years of service to the district.
Holt currently serves as Assistant Superintendent for the McGehee School District. He joined the district in 2019 as principal of McGehee High School and held that position until 2024, when he was promoted to assistant superintendent.
“The school board voted unanimously to hire Justin as our next superintendent following the retirement of Mrs. Tullos,” said School Board President Jeff Owyoung. “He has done a fantastic job learning from her, and we all look forward to his leadership as we continue working to make our schools the best they can be.”
Holt earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He later completed his master’s degree in educational leadership and his Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in educational leadership from Arkansas State University.
Beyond his work in education, Holt is active in the local community. He serves on the board of the McGehee Chamber of Commerce, is president of the McGehee Police Foundation, and is a member of the Delta Country Club board.
Holt and his wife, Rachel, have two children, Emersyn and Brady. The family plans to remain active in the McGehee community as Holt prepares to take on his new leadership role.
