A married couple were both arrested in the early morning hours Monday after police responded to a reported domestic disturbance.
Ricky Lee Austin, 67, and Ora Austin, 63, were taken into custody after police were sent to a house in the 1400 block of Silver Fox Lane at 1:06 a.m.
During a court hearing on Wednesday, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander explained the allegation.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for Ricky Austin after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with second-degree domestic battery. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled.
At the request of prosecutors, Ora Austin was released pending further investigation.
