The Pine Bluff Police Department is actively searching for Michael King Jr., a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday, July 18, 2025, at a residence located at 1212 South Spruce Street.
Officers responded to the scene around 3:21 p.m., where they discovered 36-year-old Markee Avery deceased in the yard. Avery had suffered a fatal gunshot wound, and investigators have since identified King as the prime suspect in what has been classified as a capital murder case.
King, 37, is described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He may be driving a red 2025 Hyundai Sonata with Arkansas license plate 891TWJ.
Authorities are warning the public that King should be considered armed and dangerous. Law enforcement urges anyone who may encounter him not to approach but instead contact the authorities immediately.
