Mainline Health Systems, Inc. (MHSI) is stepping up its fight against cancer, thanks to a $35,000 grant from the Arkansas Cancer Coalition. The funding, part of the “MHSI Mission Possible: Prevent & Detect” initiative, will help expand access to cancer prevention and early detection services across Southeast Arkansas.
The grant will focus on increasing the accessibility and awareness of screenings for breast, colon, and cervical cancer — three cancers that can often be successfully treated when detected early.
“We sincerely appreciate the support from the Arkansas Cancer Coalition,” said Jeni Barham, Chief Quality Officer at Mainline Health Systems. “This grant is vital to improving our ability to educate and reach more individuals, making sure they understand the importance of regular cancer screenings and can easily obtain these essential services.”
Mainline Health plans to use the funding to improve operations and patient outreach efforts, particularly in underserved communities. By boosting screening rates, the organization aims to advance cancer prevention and early detection efforts in the region.
Since its founding in 1978, Mainline Health Systems has grown to more than 30 locations across multiple counties, including Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Cleveland, Drew, Grant, Lincoln, Pulaski, and Saline. The organization provides medical, dental, and behavioral health care with a focus on compassionate, high-quality service.
