Former Jefferson County Justice of the Peace Lloyd Franklin Jr. was found not guilty on all charges stemming from a November 2025 arrest in Little Rock.
Franklin’s case was heard March 16, according to court records.
He had been charged with driving while license canceled, suspended or revoked; impeding traffic; use of a wireless telecommunications device while driving; violation of the Omnibus DWI Act (first offense); refusal to submit to arrest; and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Court documents show that after prosecutors for the City of Little Rock presented their case, Franklin’s defense team moved for a directed verdict, arguing there was insufficient evidence to support the charges.
The court granted the motion, and Franklin was acquitted on all counts.
Records indicate the case disposition was forwarded to the Arkansas Crime Information Center for inclusion in its database. Additionally, the bond Franklin posted as a condition of his release was refunded following the verdict.
