Arkansas State Police (ASP) have charged José Solano Rodríguez, 20, of Little Rock, in connection with a high-speed crash that killed two teenagers following a police pursuit late on October 29, 2025.
Rodríguez faces two counts of First-Degree Murder, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and one count of Felony Fleeing.
According to state police, the incident began around 10:15 p.m. when a trooper spotted a red 2011 Infiniti traveling eastbound on Interstate 30 near the 133-mile marker at a high rate of speed. When the trooper attempted a traffic stop, Rodríguez exited at Geyer Springs Road and fled, driving recklessly through traffic at speeds exceeding 100 mph, running red lights, and nearly colliding with other vehicles.
The pursuit continued westbound on I-30, where authorities say Rodríguez accelerated to speeds of more than 130 mph before exiting at McDaniel Drive. His vehicle then struck another motorist, lost control, and crashed into heavy machinery outside a business along the service road. The Infiniti caught fire shortly after impact.
Two passengers — a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl — were killed in the crash. Rodríguez was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Baptist Medical Center for treatment of injuries. He remains hospitalized under law enforcement supervision.
The driver of the vehicle struck during the chase was not injured.
