Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with the death of a Lake Village man earlier this week.
The investigation began Wednesday, August 20, around 8 p.m., when officers with the Lake Village Police Department (LVPD) conducted a welfare check at a residence in the 300 block of Black Street. Inside, officers discovered the body of 65-year-old Willie McCree. LVPD then requested assistance from ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division.
On Friday, August 22, CID agents, with the help of LVPD, arrested Anthony Adams, 18, of Lake Village. Adams was taken to the Lake Village Jail, where he was charged with First-Degree Murder.
McCree’s body has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the official cause and manner of death.
Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
