Jerome Perez Announces Candidacy for Drew County Sheriff

Jerome Perez has officially announced his candidacy for Drew County Sheriff, bringing with him a wealth of experience in law enforcement, public safety, and community service.

Perez said his campaign will focus on fostering safety, accountability, and strong community partnerships throughout Drew County. “This is a place I care deeply about,” Perez said. “My goal is to ensure Drew County remains a safe, supportive community where law enforcement and residents work together.”

Perez has built an extensive background in law enforcement and youth services over the years. His professional experience includes serving as a Team Assistant at the Dermott Juvenile Facility, a Mental Health Technician at the Center for Youth and Families, and a Patrol Officer and School Resource Officer for the Monticello School District. He also worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer for the 10th Judicial District.

Perez previously served as Chief Deputy with the Drew County Sheriff’s Department, where he gained vital leadership and administrative experience. Before that, he worked with the Arkansas Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer and Sergeant, later being promoted to EPC Lieutenant as the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator.

“I’ve spent my career serving and protecting others, and I believe that experience has prepared me to lead the Drew County Sheriff’s Office effectively,” Perez said. “I’m committed to transparency, fairness, and working with the people of Drew County to make our communities stronger.”
