The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a detainee who fled from the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Detention Center.
According to authorities, Darius Shepard ran from the sally port/intake area of the facility and left the property on foot. Law enforcement immediately initiated search procedures and began working leads while conducting patrol operations in the surrounding area.
Shepard was last seen wearing purple hospital scrubs, officials said.
Authorities are urging anyone who sees Shepard or has information about his whereabouts to call 911 immediately. Individuals may also contact Major Dennis Kendall at 870-510-4707 with any information.
The sheriff’s office advises the public not to approach Shepard and to report any sightings to law enforcement right away.
