Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Says Jail Roster Glitch Incorrectly Shows Mass Release

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a technical issue that caused the online jail roster for the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Detention Center to incorrectly show that most detainees were released early this morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, the jail management software—Tiger Track, operated by Tiger Correctional Services—experienced a syncing failure with the agency’s Brooks-Jeffrey–developed website. The glitch caused the public roster to display that numerous detainees were released at 12:33 a.m.

Officials said the information is wrong, and no detainees have been released as a result of the error.

Internal checks of Tiger Track confirm all detainees remain listed as incarcerated, and the sheriff’s office said there has been no interruption to security or operations within the detention center.

“We want to be absolutely clear: there has been no large-scale release of detainees, and public safety has not been compromised,” Jail Administrator Chief Deputy Jimmy “Bo” Hudson said in a statement. “This is a display and communications error only, and all internal records and headcounts remain accurate.”

A support ticket has been filed, and Tiger Correctional Services is working to fix the problem and restore accurate information to the public-facing site.

Until the issue is resolved, the sheriff’s office is directing the public to view the correct jail roster directly through Tiger Track at:

That webpage is maintained by Tiger Correctional Services and reflects up-to-date detainee information.

The sheriff’s office also reminded the public of the long-standing disclaimer posted with the online roster, which notes that information on the site is provided as a convenience and may not always be current or entirely accurate. The disclaimer emphasizes that neither the county nor the detention center is liable for actions taken based on information posted on the website.
