Jefferson County Quorum Court committee members are scheduled to meet Tuesday evening at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Jefferson County courthouse.
According to the agenda, justices of the peace will hear committee reports and consider several appropriation ordinances.
The Public Safety Committee, chaired by Justice Roy Agee, is expected to take up an appropriation ordinance to reappropriate unexpended FEMA funds for the Jefferson County Office of Emergency Management.
The Budget and Finance Committee, chaired by Justice Ted Harden, will consider an appropriation ordinance to reallocate funds and eliminate positions within Fund 2000 for the Jefferson County Road Department. The eliminated positions are expected to come from four currently vacant slots, a move that would allow for salary adjustments for current employees. The changes are expected to be retroactive to Jan. 1, 2026. The committee will also consider an ordinance to reappropriate unexpended FEMA funds for the Office of Emergency Management.
Items passed in committee will then move to the full quorum court meeting next week.
