The Jefferson County Quorum Court approved funding Monday for the assessor’s office and a juvenile services program while tabling several requests from the county judge. County Judge Gerald Robinson and Justice of the Peace Rick Victorino were absent from the meeting.
Several items requested by Robinson were tabled, including funding to pay the county attorney and proposed raises for employees in the road department, along with other budget-related requests.
Justice Reginald Johnson gave his opinion on why they items were tabled.
Justices voted to appropriate funds for the assessor’s office to purchase a vehicle for an appraiser already on staff. Officials said the vehicle will support fieldwork, including property inspections and assessments across the county.
The justices also unanimously approved funding for the FINNS program, which provides services to families and juveniles through the court system.
