A $25,000 bond was set Monday for a Jefferson County man on drug and weapons charges.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Treveon Hopkins, 25, with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reading from an affidavit from the White Hall Police Department, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said Hopkins was a passenger in a vehicle that White Hall Police stopped near Exit 32 of Interstate 530 because the vehicle was reportedly traveling 102 miles per hour in a 75-mile-per-hour zone.

Hopkins said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court Nov. 3.
