Jefferson County Authorities Seek Suspect in First-Degree Battery Case

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a violent assault earlier this week.

Investigators say Jason Dancer III, 24, is wanted in relation to a first-degree battery that occurred on Jan. 22, 2026. Details of the incident have not yet been released, but authorities describe the charge as serious and potentially life-threatening.

Dancer is described as standing 6-feet-1 inch tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Officials urge anyone with information about Dancer’s whereabouts to contact Investigator Zachary Sturdivant with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 870-510-2108 or by email at [email protected].

Authorities stress that the public should not attempt to approach or detain Dancer. Instead, anyone who sees him or has information is asked to report it to law enforcement immediately.
