Jefferson County 2025 Election Draws Crowded Field for Local Offices

Political filings for the 2025 election cycle in Jefferson County have officially been released, revealing a crowded field of candidates seeking a variety of county and municipal offices.

Incumbents and newcomers alike have filed for positions ranging from County Judge and Sheriff to Justice of the Peace, Constable, and local school board seats.

For County Judge, incumbent Gerald Robinson (D) will face several challengers, including Eric Walden Jr. (D), Jeff Edwards (D), Nathaniel Todd (R), Efrem Neely (D), and Michael Turley (D).

In the Sheriff’s race, current Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr. (D) is being challenged by Mark Cannon (D) and Chris Lowery (I).

  • White Hall School District: Scott Lockhart (At Large 1).
