The Arkansas State Police have issued an Inmate Escape Alert at the request of the Arkansas Department of Corrections after an inmate walked away from his work release assignment Tuesday afternoon.
According to officials, inmate Wayne Schutz, 180381, was discovered missing from his job assignment at Prospect Steelat the Port of Little Rock on November 18. Authorities believe he may have fled the area in a 2015 white Dodge pickupbearing Arkansas license plate 1DYXN.
Schutz is housed at the Benton Work Release Unit and is currently serving an eight-year sentence for breaking and entering out of Faulkner County.
State officials are urging anyone with information on Schutz’s whereabouts to contact local law enforcement immediately.
The Division of Correction and the Division of Community Correction are coordinating with local, state and federal agencies as they pursue all leads in the ongoing search.
