Arkansas Department of Corrections officials are reporting an inmate has committed suicide inside of the Pine Bluff unit.
Officials say officers found 30-year-old Calvin J. Hammock hanging in his cell shortly after noon on Thursday, and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
According to a news release, Hammock was serving a three-year sentence for impairing the operation of vital public facilities.
According to Arkansas Department of Corrections records, Hammock is the fourth state prisoner to die by suicide this year.
