After what was possibly the best start of his young professional career, Tink Hence walked off out of Hammon’s Field with a no-decision.

The former Watson Chapel star struck out 13 and walked only one during six shutout innings. Hence threw 92 pitches, with 62 going for strikes. He left with the game scoreless. The Cardinals scored in the bottom of the seventh to get the win and remain in 1st place.

It was the second consecutive overpowering start for St. Louis’ #1 prospect and inched him one step closer to a possible promotion to AAA. On May 18th, Hence also pitched 6 strong innings in a Springfield win over Midland.
