Grant County Sheriff Pete Roberts has been appointed to the Arkansas Towing & Recovery Board by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Roberts was officially sworn in on Aug. 29 by Seventh Judicial District Circuit Judge Stephen Shirron, following his appointment on Aug. 20. He will serve on the board through June 30, 2028.
The Arkansas Towing & Recovery Board is the state’s regulatory agency for the towing and recovery industry. Its responsibilities include licensing Arkansas-based towing businesses, permitting tow vehicles for hire, investigating consumer complaints, and enforcing compliance with state rules and regulations.
The board is made up of nine members, each appointed by the governor to three-year terms. The membership includes four non-consent tow owners, two consent-only tow owners, one representative from the insurance industry, and two at-large members not directly connected to the towing profession. The agency also employs staff to assist both the towing industry and the public, and it is supported by legal counsel from the Attorney General’s office.
