Grant County Sets Aside Funds for Legal Fees on Proposed Data Center and Solar Farm

Legislation authorizing the Grant County Quorum Court to set aside money to pay attorney fees if necessary, in matters relating to a proposed data center and solar farm.

According to the Sheridan Headlight newspaper, the Quorum Court set aside $5,000 to pay an attorney if there is a need for one.

At last month’s meeting, resolutions allowing Cloud Energy to reach out to data centers in an effort to attract one of them to the site was approved.

The proposed data center and a solar farm would have a combined price tag of between $5 and $6 billion with the data center being the biggest in the state.

The JP’s also approved an ordinance to pay bills for the Grant County Regional Airport improvements that will be funded by a 90-10 matching grant. However, the bills must be paid first before the county can seek reimbursement.
