LITTLE ROCK — For a gallon of regular unleaded fuel in Arkansas, the average price is $2.68, according to the AAA Arkansas Weekend Gas Watch.

Compared to this day last year, that price is up by three cents.

If you compare today’s average to this day last year, it is one cent less.

Drivers in Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, out of the major metropolitan area measured in the state, are paying the most at the pump on average, at $2.75.

The gas price average in Hot Springs, which was recorded at $2.59, is the least amount per gallon that drivers are paying in the state.

“As you get ready to hit the road, one of the easiest ways to save time and money is to fill up the night before your trip,” said AAA Spokesperson Nick Chabarria.

“Travelers can use the AAA Mobile app or visit GasPrices.AAA.com to find the cheapest fuel along your route and even estimate your overall trip costs.”

With gas price averages rendering similarities to Thanksgiving in 2024, AAA projects over 73 million Americans will undergo travel distances of more than 50 miles away during the holiday period.

Currently, the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.10. Compared to this day last week, it is up by two cents.

Today’s national average, compared to this same time last year, is up by three cents.

Travelers are recommended to make sure tires, battery, and additional maintenance is complete before hitting the road.

AAA projects more than 1,300 roadside assistance calls across the state this holiday.
