The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has announced that four detainees have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbings of two inmates Saturday at the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center in Pine Bluff.

Authorities identified the suspects as Darnell Ford, 24; Terencio Wyrick, 25; Kamaren Wainwright, 24; and Kedrick Love, 21. All four men were already being held at the detention center on unrelated charges.

Following a swift investigation, each has now been charged with Capital Murder, a Class Y felony, and Use of a Weapon by an Incarcerated Person, a Class D felony. They are expected to be arraigned on the new charges Monday, November 10.

The charges stem from a violent altercation that occurred around 2:47 p.m. Saturday, during which detainees Darrion Williams, 24, and Jonathan Danard Harris, 22, were fatally stabbed with foreign objects inside a housing area of the facility.

Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr. said the quick identification of the suspects was the result of diligent investigative work by detention staff and deputies.

“This has been a tragic day for the families affected and for our community,” Woods said. “Our investigators moved quickly to identify the individuals believed to be responsible, and we will continue working with prosecutors to pursue justice. We remain committed to the safety and security of everyone within our facility.”

The detention center remains under heightened security as investigators continue processing evidence and conducting interviews.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing and additional updates will be released when they do not compromise the integrity of the case.
