Community members are being invited to gather at Magnolia Market this week for another First Friday event, while organizers also report continued progress on Pine Bluff’s upcoming go-kart entertainment complex.
During a recent radio interview, Pine Bluff Urban Renewal Agency Executive Director Ryan Watley said First Friday was created to encourage community engagement, networking and fellowship while introducing more residents to Magnolia Market and Simmons Bank Park.
Watley said this month’s event will feature a buffet showcasing food from Magnolia Market vendors along with guest vendor Tan’s Barnes, known for smoked oxtails. Organizers will also offer a cigar lounge, open bar and viewing of the NBA Finals upstairs at The Bluff. Admission to the event is free, with food and beverage purchases available separately.
In addition to discussing First Friday, Watley provided an update on the city’s go-kart track and family entertainment project. He said final inspections and walkthroughs are expected in the coming days as crews complete interior work, landscaping and equipment installation.
Watley said organizers are targeting a July opening, though an exact date has not yet been announced.
He also credited Pine Bluff Urban Renewal Agency officials and community partners for helping transform the former site into a new recreational destination for residents and visitors.
Additional details about the go-kart facility’s grand opening are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
