Dumas Man Arrested for Felony Theft After Incident at Pine Bluff Walmart

A $2,500 bond was set Monday for a Dumas man previously convicted of misdemeanor theft of property who was arrested Sunday and accused of taking items from Walmart without paying for them.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Charles Williams, 23, with second offense theft of property, a felony.

Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel explained the allegation during the court hearing.

Williams was accused of taking $39.93 worth of merchandise and was convicted of misdemeanor theft on June 30, 2024. He was told to come back to court Oct. 20.
