On or about June 5, agents with the Tenth District Drug Task Force (DTF) acted on information regarding the transport of illegal narcotics from Dumas to Monticello. The investigation led to the arrest of Kerry Gilliam, a resident of Dumas, Arkansas.
According to officials, DTF agents made contact with Gilliam shortly after receiving the tip. During the encounter, Gilliam was found in possession of marijuana and a substance believed to be crack cocaine.
Following the initial contact, agents executed a search warrant at Gilliam’s residence in Dumas. During the search, authorities discovered a large quantity of suspected crack cocaine inside a vehicle registered to Gilliam and located at the property.
Gilliam was taken into custody and booked into the Drew County Detention Facility. He faces multiple charges in Drew County, including Possession of Cocaine with Purpose to Deliver and Possession of Marijuana with Purpose to Deliver. Additionally, Gilliam is facing related charges in Desha County for Possession of Cocaine with Purpose to Deliver.
The Tenth District Drug Task Force extended its thanks to Arkansas Community Corrections Probation and Parole, the Monticello Police Department, the Dumas Police Department, and the Desha County Sheriff’s Office for their cooperation and support in the investigation.
