Drew County Man Arrested for Failing to Register as Sex Offender

A Drew County man has been arrested after failing to register as a sex offender.

According to a press release from the Drew County Sheriff’s Office Akym Avery of Wilmar was arrested on April 10 for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements, which is a Class C Felony.

Avery had a $10,000 commercial bond issued by Judge Bruce Anderson during his probable cause hearing.

He remains in custody at the Drew County Detention Center at this time, according to the release.
