Jefferson County resident Deshawn Eans has announced his candidacy for Justice of the Peace in District 1, pledging to bring what he calls “strong, honest, and hands-on leadership” to the Quorum Court.
Eans said he is entering the race not for a title, but out of a desire to serve his community and ensure local government reflects the values of the people it represents.
“I’m not running because I want a title — I’m running because I love this community and believe it deserves strong, honest, and hands-on leadership that listens and delivers results,” Eans said.
A lifelong Jefferson County resident, Eans emphasized accountability, transparency, and service as key priorities of his campaign. He said he wants to ensure county tax dollars are used wisely and that residents see tangible improvements in areas such as public safety, road maintenance, economic development, and support for schools and small businesses.
“Every decision made at the county level affects our families,” he said. “You deserve a representative who will not only attend meetings but will speak up for the people of District 1.”
Eans described himself as part of a new generation of leadership ready to step up and bring fresh energy to local government.
“I may not have a degree in law or politics, but I bring fresh ideas, integrity, and commitment,” Eans said. “It’s time to put the people first again.”
Eans said he looks forward to meeting with voters across District 1 and sharing his vision for a stronger, more united Jefferson County.
