The Desha County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating 31-year-old William Bradley Deaton, a man investigators say has been involved in multiple copper thefts across the region.
Deaton, who does not have a permanent residence, is known to stay with acquaintances in Desha and Drew counties. Recent information suggests he may be traveling toward the Moro Bay area, authorities said.
According to the sheriff’s office, Deaton is “a thief” and is currently wanted in Drew County on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in Circuit Court on a possession of methamphetamine charge. Deputies say Deaton is also linked to a small group suspected of stealing copper in several counties.
The sheriff’s office released a photo of Deaton and the vehicle he is most often seen driving, urging residents to be alert. Officials warn that if citizens see Deaton or the vehicle, “there is a good chance he is looking for copper to steal.”
Anyone who knows Deaton’s whereabouts is asked to contact either the Desha County Sheriff’s Office or the Drew County Sheriff’s Office.
