The Desha County Sex Offender Compliance Team has released a current list of Level 3 and Level 4 registered sex offenders residing in the county.
Officials said the team will be conducting compliance checks throughout the Halloween season to ensure that all registered offenders are following state laws and meeting their legal obligations.
The compliance team—made up of officers from the Desha County Sheriff’s Office, Dumas Police Department, and McGehee Police Department—will make contact with each offender to verify that addresses are accurate and that all registration requirements are being met.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, these checks are part of an ongoing effort to promote community safety and public awareness, particularly during times when children are more likely to be out in neighborhoods.
