Deputies Respond to Plane Crash in Jefferson County

Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded Friday afternoon to a reported plane crash in the 2100 block of Blankenship Road.

According to officials, the call came in around 1:28 p.m. on Sept. 26, 2025. Deputies quickly arrived to secure the scene, assist emergency crews, and ensure public safety.

The Southeast Volunteer Fire Department and EASI EMS also responded, providing immediate aid to the lone pilot involved in the crash. Authorities did not release details on the pilot’s condition.

The scene was secured to preserve the crash site for federal investigators. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are leading the investigation into the cause of the crash.

Sheriff’s officials expressed gratitude to all responding agencies for their cooperation and dedication.
