A reported domestic disturbance in the early morning hours Saturday resulted in the arrest of two people.
Temarion Forrest, 21, and Janiya Pitts, 18, were taken into custody after police responded to a reported armed disturbance involving a boyfriend and girlfriend at an apartment in the 6400 block of South Hazel Street.
During a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin explained the allegations.
Forrest had left the apartment before police arrived and he was found behind the apartments. He was carrying a backpack that he did not have when he was located.
Spradlin said Forrest is out on bond on felony charges in Little Rock and has a prior conviction for misdemeanor domestic battery. Pitts also has been convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery,
Because of the pending charges, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $7,500 cash only bond for Forrest after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault on a family or household member, terroristic threatening and second offense third-degree domestic battery. A $5,000 secured bond was set for Pitts on the same allegations and they were ordered to have no contact with each other until the case is settled. They were told to come back to court Oct. 15.
