Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Chief Shauwn Howell was also fired by Mayor Vivian Flowers Monday, according to City Council Member Lanette Frazier.
No reason was given for the firing of Howell, who had been with the department for more than 35 years.
On Monday, Flowers also fired Police Chief Denise Richardson, saying in a letter to her that she (Flowers) wanted to go in a different direction.
