Conway Man With Prior Convictions Given $5,000 Bond for Walmart Theft

A $5,000 bond was set Monday for a Conway man accused of stealing items from Walmart.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Chamblis Hodges, 39, with second offense theft of property.

Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said a police officer was working off-duty at Walmart Friday when he was notified of a shoplifting in progress.

Hodges has prior convictions for theft in 2022 and 2023. He was told to come back to court May 18.
