Fourth District Congressman Bruce Westerman said Friday he is feeling more optimistic about the future of the Pine Bluff Arsenal after discussions with officials from the Army and the Department of Defense.
Back in May, there were reports that the Army was considering downsizing the Arsenal in Pine Bluff and an Army facility in Texarkana.
Appearing on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show, Westerman said this.
Westerman and Senators John Boozman and Tom Cotton said in a letter to Army Secretary Dan Driscoll that closing the Arsenal “would not only circumvent current law” and “would ultimately result in a waste of taxpayer dollars and deepen America’s dependence on foreign countries to meet our military’s needs.”
