Calls for transparency between Drew County Judge Jessie Griffin and members of the Quorum Court delayed the most recent meeting with after Justice Frank Appleberry made a verbal motion asking the judge to be more forthcoming to members.
According to the Advance Monticellonian newspaper, Appleberry cited a pattern of decisions made with the knowledge of the JP’s, including the purchase of a shredder that was on the agenda.
Appleberry and Justice Zachary Hill said the lack of communication is making it difficult to keep their constituents informed. Justice Steve Pigott supported their concerns, and it was suggested that the Judge provide the JP’s with a weekly plan to ensure better comm communication and oversight.
Appleberry agreed to rescind his resolution.
