After being in business for 51 years, Colonial Steakhouse in Pine Bluff has announced they will be shutting down on July 15.
Owner Allison Hall was a guest on the Oldies 1013 Morning Show where she said the restaurant has been packed with customers the past few days as regulars came to say their goodbyes.
She was asked to talk about the history of the business, including its first location, and how she got involved.
Morning Show host Greg Horne told Hall that it had to be a tough decision to shut down and asked her to talk about the emotional effect of that decision.
She was also asked if she had been contacted by anyone indicating an interest in buying the business and keeping it alive.
Horne mentioned that Hall had indicated the economic effect and said there is a big emphasis on shopping local, eating local, and if the business was super packed every night, he didn’t think she would have made the decision to close.
Colonial Steak House will be open regular hours Thursday through Saturday and Hall said because of the number of reservations already received, walk-ins will be limited. They will open Sunday for carry-out only and Hall said customers call call-in orders or place them in person Sunday. They will continue to accept gift cards, including Deltaplex gift cards.
